WHY GLOW FLOW CHEFS?
When founding the company, we knew we wanted to create a name for the brand that we deeply connected with. The words that kept coming back to both of us, were glow and flow.
GLOW – we’ve always been connected to the word glow. First, because we wanted to have that look; we wanted our skin to glow, to radiate light. As we became more entrenched in the wellness world and as our spiritual practices began to grow, we recognized that we not only wanted to glow on the outside, but on the inside as well. We wanted to shine bright, feel alive and energized, and we wanted our glow to enable us to share our light with others.
FLOW – the other word that we connected so deeply with was flow. Flow was what we felt when everything just seemed to go as we desired. Everything seemed to come easily. Time would escape us. There wasn’t friction or fear. We wanted more of this and we wanted it often. Flow came after meditations and calming yoga series. Flow came after long walks outside. Flow came when we felt connected to work, whether that be writing, typing or in the kitchen concocting. Flow came when we felt deeply happy and fulfilled.
CHEFS – the word “chef” in our name has a broader meaning than its traditional use. We chose “chef” to denote that we are curators of works and conceptions that help others reach their glow and flow.
What we realized is – we have the power to alter our minds and bodies so we can obtain glow and flow. WE have the power to do things that can change our thinking and the way we feel. It’s time to recognize YOUR power and YOUR abilities. That’s where we want to help.
Our brand was born out of our desire to share with others what we’ve learned. We hope to educate, strengthen, and enliven you. But most importantly, we hope to empower you to recognize all that you can be.

I am a plant-based, whole-foods chef. Sometimes raw, sometimes vegan, but always whole-foods. I believe strongly in eating with the seasons. When it’s cold outside, I feel our bodies deserve warming, cooked foods that heat us up and nourish our souls. In the summer months, I am all about raw foods – lots of smoothies, salads and cold soups – that keep us feeling light and energetic when the sun is beating down.
I long to get people excited about food and its powerful healing abilities. I believe above anything else that food is medicine – that we can drastically alter the state of our health by discovering foods that revitalize and nurture our system.
Like everyone I have a past, and mine has not always included healthful eating and mindful practices.
After years of working tirelessly in corporate marketing jobs, battles with health issues, and lack of confidence in myself, I finally hit my breaking point. I knew a change was necessary. Not only was I unhappy, but I was a stressed-out mess. I could not digest food properly or think clearly.
What did I do – I quit everything. I left New York, where I was living at the time, and returned home to New Orleans. I literally started all over again. The career I knew for 6 years was no longer; I was surrounded by complete uncertainty.
The one thing I knew for sure was that I had to get my health back in order. If I wanted to uncover what would bring me true fulfillment, I knew I needed to feel energetic and have the capacity to think clearly. It was then that I began my extensive studies of healing the body naturally, the digestive system, meditation, and self-care practices. I threw myself into books about detox, eating for vitality, raw diets, paleo diets, breathing techniques, and everything in between. I learned a great deal and took with me what was needed at the time.
Every day I discover a little more about my body and what makes it operate at its highest potential.
I will forever be experimenting with new foods, innovative ways of eating, alternative exercises, meditative practices and more in an effort to discover what makes my body tick – gives me that extra pep in my step, glow on my face, and clarity of mind. It’s a journey that I previously viewed as difficult and exhausting – one of regimen and restriction – but that’s drastically changed. Today I embrace the self-discovery that comes from incorporating new foods into my diet, taking a break from consuming certain foods to see my body’s reaction, adding different exercises or self-care practices into my days – it’s a never-ending experiment with a profound goal – health, happiness and fulfillment.
I firmly believe that becoming familiar with our whole operating system – our metabolic, nervous, glandular and musculoskeletal systems and the organs of our body – is critical to our overall health and happiness. When you understand the complex systems of your body, you can take small steps to aid these systems with things like nutrition, physical activity, or general lifestyle habits. We are powerful beings with a strong capacity to heal ourselves.
One of my inspirations, Amanda Chantal Bacon, said “Healthy is not a fixed state but an enriching, lifelong journey.” I could not agree more. I hope you’ll embrace the ride!
Before beginning her career in the health and wellness space, Emily worked in the public relations and marketing industry for 8 years at several leading, worldwide agencies including Ogilvy Public Relations, Marina Maher Communications and Everyday Health. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia. In 2013, she attended The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where she received her certification as a Holistic Health Coach and several years later attended Matthew Kenney Culinary, where she was certified as a raw, vegan chef.

I’m a wellness coach, Kundalini yoga and meditation teacher and an online marketer with a passion to help others feel successful, balanced, confident and fulfilled.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a strong desire to help people feel happy. When I see people going through a tough time or unhappy, I have a burning desire to understand why – to really get to the root of the issue and to help them get to a better place.
It’s a bit ironic because just a few years ago, I didn’t know how to help myself get to that better place.
Due to what I can only equate to my fear of failure or not being good enough or not being the best at something, I put myself and my body in a state of stress and because of my constant go-go-go mentality, I was blissfully unaware that anything was significantly wrong. I felt decently happy, decently healthy and pretty successful. What I didn’t feel, was deeply fulfilled.
But, I didn’t know what to do to get off the hamster wheel that had become my life. Most significantly, I was afraid to make changes.
What helped me stop the perpetual spinning was yoga. As cliche as it may sound, yoga helped me discover and make friends with my calm mind. Yoga helped me recognize my mind yearned for rest and my body begged to be listened to.
As I started calming my mind and properly nourishing my mind and body, the world began to speak to me. I’d finish a yoga set and could write for hours. My desires began to shift to wanting to do — what I can only imagine is what I should have been doing all along — helping people feel good.
I’m certainly not there yet, but I know I’m on the path I should be venturing down.
Today, I’m doing what my heart tells me I should be doing – helping others awaken to their full, unique potential. Sometimes that’s life coaching to help people recognize their gifts and determine ways to integrate them into their lives. Sometimes that’s teaching Kundalini Yoga to elevate others to see their strength and build confidence. Sometimes that’s just being a friend with an open ear, so people can express how they’re feeling.
I want everyone to know they deserve to feel utter happiness and joy. This world is good, we just need to figure out how we can best serve and exist in it. I’d love to help you on your personal journey.
